When manipulating behavior, something that is unpleasant and ominous, such as forbidden words, exerts a much more powerful force. This is due to the belief that if you do some- thing, terrible things that are directly related to your safety will happen. I proceeded with superstition work, planting ominous and unfortunate beliefs to manipulate behaviors. I reproduced a horrible superstition of belief I've heard some- where.
Superstition is the easiest way to manipulate a body/behavior. And the belief system without historical/logicality is powerful, pervasive, and persistent.
I am interested in the relationship between faith, superstition, and power structures.
Celebrating someone’s birthday ahead of time would bring bad luck to the birthday person, so I never celebrated ahead. As soon as I heard that playing the piano at night summons ghosts, I stopped playing the piano at night ever since then. When I hear superstitions, like cutting nails at night will bring a clone, I never do such a thing. Everyone, including me, knows they are absurd and ineffective beliefs that are ridiculous, but they have never- theless limited my behavior. These beliefs induce us to do something.
Belief provides the inner certainty that drives human behavior and choice. However, not many people question or search for the origins of superstitions, so they are always accepted as blind beliefs. My ancestors invented these superstitions in the old days when only candlelight existed. Because there was a risk of injury if you cut your nails at night under candlelight. However, even today, I do not want to cut my nails at night. Through generations, superstitions with hidden meanings manipulate and induce human perceptions and behaviors. Belief, which has no history, persists for a long time and significantly affects everyday life without anyone knowing.
