In 3D, gaming, and AI environments, the default model of the human has long been constructed around white, Western bodies. This work begins as a resistance to the power structures of such Western-centric posthumanism. It proposes Kor-futurism, a speculative vision of the future that reconstructs the standards and genealogy of humanity by taking the presence of Korean Asian women as its point of origin within a new collective of digital humanity.
The body of a single Korean woman is decomposed into data through 3D scanning, then recombined and proliferated into numerous mutated beings—posthuman figures beyond conventional human categories. Though they take on different forms and identities, all of them are derived from a single body.In a future world where races are increasingly hybridized, this work re-raises the question—through science fiction and technoculture—of “who defines the standard of the human.”
Kor-futurism reimagines future identities and modes of existence by using the body of a Korean woman as its origin, generating a multiplicity of human collectives that proliferate within digital space.
3D, 게임, AI 환경에서 인간의 기본 모델은 오랫동안 백인, 서구형 신체를 기준으로 구축되어 왔다. 이 작업은 그러한 서구 중심 포스트휴먼의 권력 구조에 대한 저항에서 출발한다. 디지털 인류의 새로운 군집 속에서 한국 아시아 여성의 존재를 기원으로 삼아, 인간의 기준과 계보를 다시 구성하는 사변적 미래관인 Kor-futurism를 제시한다. 한 명의 한국 여성 신체는 3D 스캔을 통해 데이터로 분해되고 재조합하며, 수많은 변이적 존재들—초인종적 인간 군상—로 증식한다. 이들은 서로 다른 형태와 정체성을 가지지만, 모두 하나의 신체로부터 파생된 존재들이다. 인종이 혼합되는 미래 세계 속에서, SF와 테크노컬처를 통해 “누가 인간의 기준이 되는가”라는 질문을 다시 제기한다. Kor-futurism은 한국 여성의 몸을 기원으로, 디지털 공간에서 증식하는 다중적 인간 군집을 통해 미래의 정체성과 존재 방식을 재구성한다.
